Garlic has a high content of minerals like calcium, zinc, and sulfur, which are essential for hair growth; it is antimicrobial and helps kill germs and bacteria that can cause damage to the scalp and inhibit hair growth; it helps purify the hair follicles, strengthen them, and prevent clogging, curbing hair loss; it helps calm aggravated scalp and treats issues such as dandruff; raw garlic is highly enriched with Vitamin C, which is great for the health of your hair; it boosts collagen production which helps with hair growth.
Now that you know all of these benefits, I guess you’re now hyped about using garlic on your hair right? Right! And the most effective way it can be used is in ‘oil form’.
How to Make Garlic Oil.
Ingredients: 8 cloves of garlic with any carrier oil(olive, coconut, castor etc),
Method: Crush the garlic and throw in a blender to get a fine pulp. Next, heat the carrier oil in a pan and take it off the cooker once it’s slightly hot. Then add the garlic pulp into the oil, stir and cover. Leave it to infuse for a 48-hour period. After this, sieve out the pulp from the oil and your oil is ready to be used.
This oil could be used thrice a week by massaging directly to the scalp and also applied to the hair. It could be used for a hot oil treatment or pre-shampoo.
